tranny problems 020/FF



Well my old wide ratio is going out quickly. i've been forcing it into
first gear for a few weeks while it was moving(i know, i'm a moron),
sometimes it would grind pretty bad.. Now sometimes it's hard to get into
first while im sitting at a light.  my third gear synchro is pretty bad
too. Exspecially when the car is cold, no matter how slow i push the gear
shift, it'll grind a little. I have the standard second gear synchro probs
too. 
	So it looks like i'll be doing some tranny shopping. I like the wide-ratio
 because my car revs high and when i put my turbo in, the wide ratio will
be WAY better than a close ratio. So, should i pull out my 200,000 mile
tranny and slap new synchros in even though thats probably not all thats
wrong, or have it rebuilt by a good VW tranny rebuilder, or what??

What does a synchro kit cost? i know a good rebuilt will proabaly cost
about 1000-1500. I want a velocity limited slip too, but for that i just
need the close ratio Axle flanges right? not the whole differential??
