My Cooling Fan is on the Fritz!

If you replaced the wires then I think the next thing to be suspect would
be the sender.

Hey guys,

I was recently driving in the rain, with no
windsheild wipers (Don't ask) and I noticed my
Temp gauge rising quickly, and I get freaked out
so I throw the car in my friend's garage. I tried
to figure it out, and after digging under the battery
I pull out the wires that run to the fan and see
that one of them was separated and covered in green
goo. I replaced the wires, and the fan still doesn't
go on automatically... But I know the fan's not busted
because when I hook it straight to the battery, it runs. My quick
solution, I installed a switch under my defrost switch, and tapped it
to the battery and the fan, so I can control the fan this way. But I
don't
want to keep it like this forever. Does anyone know
something that I didn't try? How much does a new set
of wires cost? Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks

Paully
