Re: Plugged Cats



I drove my '86 with a partially plugged cat for a year because I was too
lazy to ream it out. It had decent low end torque and then the power
just dropped off WAYY to early, like above 3200rpm it had practically
nothing. My top speed was in 5th gear with an FN tranny at 103mph. It
sucked. I'd shift into 4th to get the revs above 4000rpm and my speed
would drop down to like 95mph.
FYI, I once had a Scirocco with a cat that was so plugged that it
wouldn't start. It can get BAD.
