This was happening to me on my Rabbit last week...It may sound wrong..but I
replaced my fanbelt which was completly bare..Now it doesn't happen anymore..I
think that would make sense in the way the belt is hooked to the alternator
which keeps the electric flow..so that was making my points not open all the
time..try it..It's only $6
