Re: Odometer problems —— how to fix



This seems to be all too common on roccos, both my 82 and 86.5 have  broke.  It is the
plastic gears that become brittle and break.  Once one of the broken parts get lodged in the
odometer every gear tears up.  You can find a junk odometer and replace gears (not a real
easy job) and it may last for awhile longer.  I had heard that some aftermarket source had the
gears in brass, if anyone knows of this place...I sure would be interested in the info.  If you are
able to replace the broken gear besure you never try to reset the odometer while the car is
rolling (number one cause for failure).
