RE: Worst experience with Toyota Dealer

Depends. The fun 'n' friendly folks at Dildo Motors are likely to argue
that you had an option contract, meaning that the $20 was the consideration to
ensure that the deal would remain available to you for x amount of time. Were
this true , the only circumstance under which you'd get your $$ back would be
that the car you'd selected got sold prior to the end of the option period.

You'd be arguing that you'd placed a refundable deposit for a specific car,
and then opted not to avail yourself of that. In my state, pressing that
argument will cost you at least $25 just to get in front of the magistrate
(mind you, you can win that $25 back if'n you prove your case and remember to
ask for fees). Did you give them a $20, or did you write a check/swipe a
card? If the latter, stop payment.

You could easily end up spending more than you recoup here -- the better
retaliation is to make certain everyone you know is aware of what terminal
c***suckers these people are; that'll cost 'em a lot more than $25.

In my varied career options, I've both tried to cause and solve this very
situation; I'm not particularly proud of either. Best advice -- steer clear
of this sort of s***.
