RE: Idle mania!






After a ~40 minute interstate cruise I came to a stop and my idle would
not drop below 2000K. Actually, that's exactly where it was stuck!
Approximately 2 weeks ago it went up to about 1200, which was fine by me
at the time...

This morning when I fired it up, the idle was at 1500, and after it warms
up, it slowly creeps up to 2000 again. Help me!

I checked the throttle adjustments on the throttle body, and everything
was already adjusted as far as it would go..(perhaps the previous owner
had probs, too?) I've had this baby since July.

Has this anyone had this happen to them, or any pointers? Do I need to
replace the throttle body?

The idle is perfectly stable, it doesn't waver at all. (ie. it's not
hunting up and down as seems to happen often w/ VW's...)

If I had to guess (and I do, 'cause I sho' don't know), I'd look at the little 
intermediate tube that goes from the intake manifold to the t-fitting (part of 
which goes to the airbox).  Mine went gooey with age, and at first, the hole 
would only appear once it heated up enough for the weight of the stuff hanging 
off it to bend it.

Either that, or it's something else...:)
