  Theres a relay for the shift light under the dash. The Bentley has the
position of it on pages 13-28 and 29. Yank the relay, no light!. If you are
feeling exceptionally cautious, you can look through the wiring diagrams,
and verify that it isn't connected to any other important system. Or you can
just take my word:) If you don't want to get out the Bentley, the relay is
on the second row up, 4th position counting from left, and has a white 
number 5 on it. I happen to have one of these sitting on my desk(I always
yank them as soon as I get the car).
