Isn't there a way to upgrade to 5 speed? Guys, I thought I saw a kit in
an older autotech catalog, help me out on this one.

Yes, the usual volkswagon story

Good choice john (english accent)

Usual tune up after sitting for a long time stuff: tires, battery,
tuneup, valve adjustment, get someone to check out the engine, as to the
fact as I can't see it, probably brakes, and anything that could rust
and cause problems, clean all the electrical connections and enjoy.(It's
an obsession, you will soon understand)

Oh yeah, check CV Boots/ CV Joints (don't replace anything down there
with american parts please only GERMAN {DEUTSCH}), ball joints, tie
rods, struts/springs/strut mounts (go neuspeed/Boge, ND has packages
that come assembled, all you have to do is take of 6 or so bolts, remove
and replace and tighten 6 or so bolts) (It's an obsession, you will soon
understand)

Why not man, everybody else is doing it, come on man be cool like us, or
are we losers, I forget the point is, you can do it champ

Keep the engine or die ( oh I am sorry forgot to take medication this
moring) Change the exhaust ( I hear these Tri-Y headers are nice, with
a techtonics cat-back exhaust mmm, mmm, mmm tastes good baby) I had fun
changing my manifold to a dual output and then getting the rest on, all
I have to say abu is that , YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GET FRUSTRATED WITH
THIS CAR, OR THE SCIROCCO LIST POLICE WILL COME TO YOUR DOOR AND MAKE
YOU DRIVE A PIMPED OUT HONDA!!!!!

I am kind of the opinion that you have a nice euro version of a car,
and that getting it back to stock/tuning up the car, maybe rebuild the
engine would make it a cherry car, I wish that I could find a euro MKII
GTI.
