Hmmm . . . seems we need to resolve this one. Any one out there with old
R&T or C&D issues. Any review of cars includes its weight. I have some
old consumer reports which also list weight - but all my stuff is packed
away in boxes for now.

My recollection (i've been driving sciroccos for 20 years) is that the
75-77 weighed about 1950 (U.S.); the 78-81 weighed about 2050 (U.S.)
(heavier bumpers mainly); the 82-87 8V weighed about 2150; and the 16V
weighed about 2250.

There was a book carried by ND about the 74-81 Scirocco that carried
reviews etc...(out of print)

PS: I just checked Joe Townsend's site the '84 Scirocco (8V of course) is
listed at 2181 (US) and 2029 Euro.

Really?? And how did you come to know this?? Ive always wanted an
accurate weight of my car without actually putting it on a scale. Is this
with A/C??
