I have test-driven a shiny 1997 GTI VR6 and it was, to put it simply, AMAZING.
The pick-up in that car is enough to make the hair on your head stand straight
back. Pretty solid in the turns, and a VERY smooth ride. When we took it at
140kph down the highway, the cockpit was nearly silent. I'm sure the dealer had
to change his drawers when we got back, because I drove it as if it was already
mine. (Road Demon) The only thing I don't like about the newer VW's is that
there's not too much feedback from the road, like you get from our beautiful
Sciroccos. You can't feel really what you're doing, or at least the feeling of
the road is very subtle.
