>From what I understand adjusting that mixture is only adjusting the IDLE
mixture.  It adjusts the relationship of the air sensor plate to the piston
in the fuel distributor at idle.  Once you get past idle it makes no
difference.  The way to actually adjust the mixture is by shimming the fuel
return valve spring. More shims=more pressure on the valve=more resistance
to return flow=richer mixture.  I don't have my Watercooled VW Performance
book or my Bentley here so I can't be sure if I am remembering correctly,
but I am pretty sure this is right.  Anybody?.....Anybody?..........
