The purpose of the fuel pump relay is to complete a current path from
the battery to the pump. When the engine is not moving, the relay
times-out and opens, so as not to feed an engine fire.

You need to use an 20-ga. or larger wire and a fuse to avoid melting
your wiring harness in case of overload. Solder or crimp very well your
connections, and insulate. You are making a Tool for your bag of trix!
