Mu hunch is after 3 years, the gas is pretty dank in there and is in dire
need of draining and fresh gas installed. Then try this formula that an
old racer showed me once with old cars, or fuel systems for the matter.

Go to the store and buy 5 bottles of fuel injector cleaner. On the first
tank, put 2 bottles in the tank. Drive it. On the next tank, put in 2
more bottles. And the next tank, 1 bottle. Then it should be fine. I
dunno, it seemed kinda weird to me but I tried it and I think it worked.
YMMV.

You will also probably want to install a new fuel filter while your at
it. Initially your car is gonna be a slight money pit because its more
than likely gonna have some dry rot damage that will show up and mean
replacing some seals and a few other little things. don't forget to
change ALL of the fluids. After 3 years, the brake fluid, oil and tranny
fluid have got to be pretty much worthless if not damaging.

Congrats on your new car! I hope you are able to get it back into shape.
Welcome to the list!

HTH!!
