One quick question - can I wire each side's high beams in series?  What I'm
thinking is running the power from teh relay to one terminal of the H1,
then connecting the H1's ground to the high-beam +ve wire on the H4 with a
short jumper, then grounding the H4 with the same 10G.  This way the H4
lowbeam should still work, since I wouldn't touch its yellow + lead and it
would still be grounded (thru the new heavy guage cable).  Only thing I'm
not sure of is whether I'll sacrifice any brightness (or cause any other
problems) by wiring each side's H1 and H4 in series.  I'm thinking VW did
them in parallel so that if one bulb blew the other would not be affected,
and also so that they could fuse each light separately.
