Well Dave, it could be a number of things. Wrong coolant/water ratio would be 
my first choice. Then it could be you have some kind of contamination in the 
coolant. Other causes might be a part, or series of parts that are coroding. 
Also your heater core could be plagued. How often do you run the heater? 
Seeing that its kinda still winter in many parts of the US, id say the 
coolant gets flushed from the heater core often, no?
