which wire is which?

I just started checkin out the wiring on my old oil pressure sender on my 16v and I noticed 
that there are two wires.  A green and a red one that connect to the stock sender.  Which 
one do I connect to the new sender?  I am installing a VDO guage and I know to run a wire 
from the "WK" post to the sender but to I put both of the stock wires on the "G" post or just 
one?  Please help.  Actually it will have to wait until tomorrow anyway because I need a 
deep socket bit for the 22mm stock sensor.  Thanks
