Help!

Hello,

    I had been bothering some people lately with regards to my scirocco and
one of them suggested to post my questions to this address. I can't get much
help from where I am at now (Naples, Italy) as I learned that the scirocco
never got that popular here so I'm basically doing the "DIY" thing. One of
the problems my car has now is that the rpm goes to about 2000 when the
ac/heater is activated.  Does it normally go up this much taking into
consideration that the engine will compensate the additional load it is
subjected to?  I have the car to idle at 900 rpms.

    Hopefully, you can give me some info on how to correct this.  Thanks in
advance.
