This time the casualties include the grille, the right headlight/turn signal, the hood and both fenders. Miraculously, the frame doesn't look too bad. I'm taking it to a frame shop to make sure.

Having lost many a headlight to some bastard in a gravel-filled truck, the idea that the US spec headlights are cheaply replaceable appeals to me. What's the scene with the Euro headlights? $300 every time a rock hits it?

Another convert...

Hi Ken,

Sorry to hear about your car. If you need body parts, look in the April
issue of European Car magazine. In the area where they're doing
restoration of the Scirocco 16V, there's a place in California that
sells body parts. I'd give you the address but I loaned a friend the
mag and I haven't seen it since <sigh>. Anyway, give them a call, their
prices are relatively inexpensive. Just a bug in your ear, I called
about a 2.0 litre bottom-end bolt on and the guy quoted me $300. Not
bad! Since the car will be down for awhile, maybe you might want to
upgrade. Hope this helps.
