<< I'll second the Ultraflow - I have a Flowmaster (now that's a manly
muffler;), and had I seen some tests before buying it, I probably would
have gotten the Ultraflow. I have heard several people say that the
Supertrapp "kills horsepower." (that phrasing is from Bob@SRS). I dunno, I
know some fast VWs with Stupidtrapps on them (I actually think they're pretty
cool, but it is fun calling them stupidtrapps......). FWIW.

I guess I'll chime in on this one...I agree that the UltraFlowMaster would
beat them all, and be master of the domain!!!! My experience with Supertrapp
has led me to conclude that they work well for cars striving to obtain
optimal power in a very narrow powerband. That's why they are generally
referred to as a "tuned" muffler.
Now, before you laugh me off the list, check this out: I got a Pacesetter
exhaust out of J.C. Whitney for my 16 valve Scirocco. It was only about
$120. 2-3/8 inch, black painted, mandrel-bent, full cat-back system! The
post-cat pipe has a glass-pack style straight-thru resonator, and the muffler
splits into an absolutely gorgeous twin exhaust outlet which is chrome
tipped! The exhaust fit well, and looks great! Horsepower and torque gains
were substantial and the sound is almost Ferrarri-like. Seriously, I highly
recommend it.
