You're MUCH better off just getting a funnel and tube and pouring the oil in there.  
The speedo cable is a pain in the ass ro get to and install again in my experience 
especially in the cluttered 16v.  The side one is so easy to get to.  Come on, lazy ass! 
 =)  
go out and buy a tube!
