     If you're not into serious competition and you want a decent riding 
shock for a good price, I just bought a set of BOGE Turbogas shocks/struts 
for my '87 Jetta for $160 from Adirondack Auto Brokers.  I definitely like 
them over the Gabriel ones I had put in before.  Another nice thing was the 
Gabriels were $135 for the set and the BOGE Turbogas were only $25 more for a 
superior shock.
