Newbie; Rattling, but no clunking

Hey all-

I am now the proud owner of a 1984 8V. I bought it from my dad, he took
good care of it, only 86,000miles on it, no rust. His mechanic (although
Dad's usually his own mechanic) gave it his blessing a month ago, prior to
my purchase. I'm pretty excited, as I'm sure you all know. The next
fastest car I've owned was a 1980 quasi-GTi. A couple questions for the
collective wisdom. Dad owned this car for most of my college/grad school
years, it's the only Scirocco I know.

He did say that most of the underpinnings on this car were GTi. Is that
the standard, or an option on the Scirocco? It has a leather wrapped
steering wheel and shift knob, Same question as above, standard or option?
It does not, however, have leather seats or the Wolfsburg emblems (or the
black between the front and back windows, looks great, to answer someone
else's question). It's brown, (I prefer 'bronze.') but aren't they all,
with 14" Fittipaldi wheels. Really cool, sticks like glue, wanders all over
if the road has a hump in the middle of the lane.

The other question I have (so far) is a rattle going over bumps. (Shawn's
reply to Dale's message makes me think I know what it is.) It comes from
the front right corner. I took a cursory look around that corner, nothing
loose in the engine bay. It certainly doesn't clunk, I'm wondering if it's
these anti-rattle clips. I have the shop manual at home, so I'm sure I can
find them, but is there anything I should keep my eyes out for while poking
around?

Thanks in advance-

        -Ed.
