Replacement cars...

After looking for a couple of weeks, I found a VR6 Corrado
on Saturday. The deal I had working on a 93 fell through
when they wanted to charge me for fixing the headlights and
fog light lenses. This was at a VW dealer in Houston. The
salesman was a pain to deal with, i.e. not very nice.

Anyway, I did find another one. It is a 92 with 89k miles. That's
pretty high, I know, but the car is clean otherwise. This dealer, a
Volvo and Jaguar dealer, allowed me to take it to my mechanic
across town, who passed it. The dealer even added a 2 month/2k mi
warranty on it even though it is well outside factory warranty.
All in all, I thought it was better deal, and they treated me
with respect to boot. The price? $9950 ;)

So, as long as the engine holds out depending on what kind of
miles were put on it I should be enjoying a new(er) car for the
next few years. I will hold on to my 82 Scirocco for a while and
will keep up with lurking on this list. I need to check on recall
service on the Corrado anyway and may need to install the
newer type clutch disc.

Happy motoring!
