This part I know:
I checked my motor by taking the door panel off (I had the exact symptoms
you have by the way) and then using both switches.  The motor clicked and I
could hear it trying to work but nothing happened.  I replaced the motor
with a used one from a local yard for $40.  It was a simple job.  Good luck,
