Re: Buying a 16v
Well IF it is all leather, you loose alot of bolster support. Most
16v's had the leatherette/cloth with the larger bolsters to help keep
you in your seat under fun cornering :). I was going to switch mine
to the leather interior I found in an old 86 Wolfsburg edition, but
was unhappy with the bolsters. Now I am still looking for better
seats like a Reccaro with killer bolsters or going with a Momo Corse.
But I do not have the cash for those bad boys yet.
The price to replace the cloth should be minimal, usually the leather
bolsters wear out first.

Welp, I'm going to be paying cash for an '87 or '88 16v Scirocco this
Monday. Anything in particular I should be looking for when buying one?
There seems to be a LOT for sale here in the Portland, Oregon (USA) area,
but don't want to get screwed when purchasing one.
One question though. those 16v's with leather interiors...where they FULL
leather seats, or just leather trim? If the cloth on the leather seats
needs to be replaced, what's the going market price to have them re-upholstered?
ANY help would be appreciated.
