      I did this replacement on my 79 about 3 or 4 years ago.  Really easy
procedure.  What I did was drove around until my gauge was almost empty,
that way there is little gas in the tank.  then I parked on a slope, with
the car aiming down the slope.  This way the gas wont be sitting at the
hose when you take it off.  Lemme look here, I might still have the
receipt for how much that hose cost....  I think I found it, looks like
around 21.50 for the hose and 2.50 for each clamp so almost 30 bucks
total.  When I put my hose in, it seemed a bit too long so I had to chop
some off but to this day, it dont leak through the hose or around where it
connects the filler neck or the tank.  Should take you all of 30 minutes
to 45 minutes to replace.  Just dont smoke down there  =)  HTH....
