What I meant was that if you are to try and set the timming of the motor
by just pulling out the little plug, you will have a very rough time
doing it. (Visually) I was suggesting that if you just fully unscrew the
whole plug from the tranny it would aid in seeing what you were doing.
Also if you are to mark the timming points on the flywheel and the "V"
pointer on the bell housing with some bright paint it will also make it
easier to see.

The only advice I can offer up is to know what it is your looking for
when setting the timming. If you have the 210mm flywheel there should be
the 0 deg TDC mark and to the left of it a "V" notch cut into the
flywheel. This is the 6 deg BTDC marking for the stock timming. If your
one of the lucky ones with the adjustable timming lights you can set
fairly accurate whatever advance you want with just using the 0 TDC
mark.. If not then just use the "V" mark.

You don't have the digitrash system so there is nothing to disconnect.
Just check your timming and adjust as needed. Make small adjustments,
wick the throttle a few times and let the throttle stabilize and check
the timming again. The timming will bounce around a little bit. I've
never seen it rock on steady.
