I know that canadians got a GTI rabbit way back in the late 70's that 
was identical to the european one except for the motor (same body 
trim, ect).   I have a sneaky feeling that we got some Sciroccos that 
way too and that would explain why there seems to be some around, yet 
no one has seen the nice high hp motor. and because it was canadian, 
it wouldn't be on the US microfiche (i'll check it at work tomorrow 
to see if its on the Canadian one).   I was kind of wondering where 
my 220 km/h speedometer came from.  Probably was originally on one of 
those.  (it has two water temp idiot lights, a yellow and a red) ?
