I think you'd be surprised if you actually weighed the system components.
50lbs would be tough to find in A/C stuff. The only real weight is the
compressor. The other stuff is fairly light.

Hi everybody,

I have a '85 and it has A/C, but unfortuntally it's dead.  I don't 
have a clue what is wrong with it.

Should I just remove the compressor and the condensor?  I've been 
told that it gives a slightly better performance and better fuel 
economy (since this equipement is over 50 pounds).  Should I?  I

If so, does the alternator go directly on the block?  Do I need to 
change the V belt? 

Also, is there something else I should just take out that is heavy or 
unnecessary? Like the back bumper?
