Hi.I'm new. I'm a volks-addict.I live in Dom.Rep.
I don't have a Scirocco but i own a 1987 VW Saveiro.A Saveiro it's a
small pickup truck made by VW of Brazil (you can go to their home
page to see it).
My Saveiro have the same engine than the 85 European 1.8 8V Carbureted
(90hp,91 lbs-ft,10:1,elect. ignition,38/31 valve diameter,etc..) 
and i think the same transmition :
(4 speed: 1st=3.41,2nd=1.94,3rd=1.29,4th=0.91)

That's make me think i'm a Scirocco owner.

The saveiro's only weight 1800-1900 lbs ,so they are perfect for
dragging,racing,etc.
I want to modyfied it so i need help from scirocco owners.
So far i have but not intalled:
Weber carb 32/36 dfav (Car came with a smaller Weber)
Hor Sport solid lifter cam (the mechanic now says my valves are
hydraulic
  so i have to change to the hyd. cam).What is the size 270,268,272?


Need information about:
oil (engine and transm.)
spark plugs,(now Bosh w8dc)
ignitions,
spark cables,
clutch,
air filter for a carb (does a carb needs hot or cold air),
tires sizes, 13" or 14"?etc..
Carburators 
cams
exhaust size
engine redline before and after modifications(don't have a tach.)
how much hp can i expect?
transmision

Before modificatons numbers(13" 165/65 front, 165/70 rims) :
0-100 km = 10.5-11.0 sec.
1/4 mile = 17.5-18.0 sec
