4k-7k, if you leave them to do all the work.

They suck, suck, suck.... You get the picture =) I had one on my
rocco and that is why I had to repaint it. I plan on keeping it for a
while and I didnt want to have to fuss with the paint in another year or
  two.

Depending on how much you can do with the car yourself, you can cut
down on the cost of painting it. Personally I would only be worried
about the door jambs being color matched but I know there are some on
the list that may disagree but hey, everyone has their own opinions. I
have a great quote I would like to share, "Opinions are like assholes,
everyone has one and they all stink!" =) Its all up to you man. Here
is the rundown on what I did to my 79:

Stripped it, sanded it, bondoed it, and primered it. The only thing
I didnt do myself was shoot the sealer, base coat and the clear, and
I had them buff the car too. I paid roughly 300-400 in materials to
do my part, 750 for the sealer, paint and clear, 100 for the booth and
400 for the guy to shoot and buff it. That makes about 1550-1650 in
total costs. I was told by the owner of the shop and another employee
that if they had done it, the cost might have been in the 5k-7k range.
The only thing that didnt get painted was the interior and the engine
bay. I wanted to make sure the truck lid, the trunk jamb and the door
   jambs got treatment as well.

If you have the time and the patience, you can do alot yourself.
Sure it takes a while to get it perfect, but then at least it gets
painted when you think the bodywork is appropriate. Just my Opinion ;)
