my new clutch is caput

I'm at Jay's right now with my car in his driveway so here goes:
I just finished my clutch job which went pretty uneventfully except 
for me accidentally turning the distributoe and not being able to 
start.  Any way now I think the throwout bearing might be bad becase 
the clutch release lever has no pressure.  The clutch pedal can be 
tapped down with my hand etc...  There is no way to release the 
clutch!  The trans alligned up fine and it was FINE before taking it 
off.  The shifting is fine so there is no problem with the linkage.   
I don't want to have this thing towed and I don't want to drop the 
trans again this week.  can anyone think of anything simple that this 
might be?  If not I guess a shop will havve to take it.  Thanks a lot
