Re: Scirocco for the Winter?

I've driven (and still do) very old Scirocco's in the north western New York
area for quite a few years. I drove a 1979 for 2 winters, and I even drove
it to the wrecking yard. (It needed more work then it was worth at that point)
For the last 2 winters, I've driven a 1980 with 150k+ miles on it. I didn't take
it off the road this summer because I've been using it as a light hauler for
supplies for my new house. Hey, it's the closest thing I have to pickup truck. :-)
Anyway, I plan to drive it this winter as well. To tell the truth, I'm somewhat
abusive to it and it just won't stop working. In fact, at my last inspection, the
guy told me that it was in better working condition then his car. If you wish, you
can see a picture of it, along with my 16v, on The Scirocco webpage:
http://www.ftn.net/~scirocco/index.html. It's a blast to drive in the winter, very
stable and controllable. I'd recommend it for winter driving. I've never
experienced a starting problem, outside of a dead battery.
