Re: G60 conversions

With all the talk of G60 conversions, I thought you might want to read the spec
of a car which appeared in the November issue of a new UK mag 'VW Performance'

Sorry I haven't got access to a scanner, but this car looks superb - despite
it's quarter mile times, it's no stripped out racer. Read it and weep......

Car - 1988 Scirocco

Engine

1781cc Corrado G60 with Digifant fuel injection. Standard 8.0:1 compression
ratio
G-lader replaced with hybrid Garrett T03 turbo on Turbo Technics exhaust
manifold.
Superchips reprogrammed ECU. Self made 32x13.5 inch air to air intercooler and
charge cooler activated at 7psi. Custom hoses, pipes and bleed valve. Modified
Jetex 2.5 inch twin tailpipe exhaust.

Max Power - 225bhp, 245lb/ft torque at 16psi boost. Standard VW '4 + E'
overdrive gearbox. Sachs sporting clutch. Late Golf cabriolet drive shafts

Chassis

7.5x16 TSW Blades with 215/40 R16 Yoko A510. Self made front brake conversion
with Wilwood 4-pot calipers on custom brackets. Cross drilled 280mm discs, race
spec pads
Spax adjustable dampers and Autobahn springs. Standard anti-roll bars.

Exterior

Silver base coat with 50:50 mix of blue pearl and ink with five coats of
laquer. Standard late Scirocco bodykit

Interior

Standard trim
Panasonic CQ-RD25 head unit, 2 pairs of Polk Audio 6X9 3 way speakers and a
pair of JL Audio 8 inch sub-woofers. Cifford concept 50 alarm amd immobiliser

The detailing of the engine bay has to be seen to be believed ! The car isn't
radically lowered, but with the deep blue metallic paint and TSW wheels it all
hangs together and looks suberb.

The G-lader was junked because the owner wanted more extreme power than the
supercharger could handle.

It's quarter mile time ?

13.78 seconds - a winner on it's first outing.

Oh, and it's for sale - it's owner wants to build an extreme Caddy for
sprinting......
