I just wonder if the maunfactures of equipment that picked up cars this way
had given any thought to padding the points or if they were just solid steel
footings on the pick-up-point's? (Like the ones on the regular well known
shop hydraulic lifts.)
I agree, it was an "ignoranus" mechanic that gave me a bogus setup and not
by any machine. After all, it was performed by man..... This was done back
when I didnt know JACK about the allignment. I was told by other racers that
I had +++ deg of chamber on the front wheels so me and another racer showed
me how to do a pit lane allignment. Since then, I have yet to have an
allignment done by another shop, I simply dont trust them and I keep
changing my suspension. (Springs, struts) Soon I will take it to Timmons VW
in Long Beach, 2 hr trip but they will do a 4 wheel allignment with me IN
the car so its gonna be optimum for daily/autox driving. I think im gonna go
with a -1.5 Chamber and 1/16 toe settings. I am also gonna ask him what I
have eyeballed into the settings. What I have now works great but I prefer
to have something to reference from if I decide to change the settings.
Oops, there I go again..... Ramblin....Ramblin....
