Hi Tim :)

As far as amplifier specs go, when they say "50W x 4", that usually
means
50W per channel, not 50W total (i.e. the amp is a 200W amp).

If you decide to put a subwoofer in the back, however, you will need AT
LEAST
100W dedicated to that puppy alone.  It takes alot of power to get that
big
guy moving like it has to to reproduce bass.  And this isn't just for
blasting
music at top volume, either.  To get crisp sound even at moderate
volume, it
still requires alot of energy at low frequencies.  For example (I know
this
because I'm a professional studio musician), it would take 750W of power
simply to reproduce (accurately) all the low frequency information in a
perfect
recording of classical piano, at the volume it was recorded at. 
Amazing, eh?
And who said th piano was a sissy instrument!!
