A good stereo in your car really makes everyday driving much better.  When
you get stuck in traffic all those engine and suspension mods really dont help
much.  A Bazooka tube in the hatch of a small car like those reall sounds good,
with the crossover set right.  The 6x9 cabinets you describe are already sold
by crutchfield if you want to save some time and work, location is a tough one
though.  A great way to boost any stereo is just good direct fit speakers,
maybe even running off external amps.  They look stock, sound great and usually
can deliver almost all the highs to mid-bass you'll need.  A full electronic
crossover will make the system really come alive, by giving each speaker only
what is meant for at full power instead of just elimnating frequencies you dont
want after they have been amplified.  One big factor you forgot to mention is
what you music taste is.  Different music needs different setups to sound
great.  My last thought is please be sure to set that crossover for the subs
right, there are already too many massive distortion four wheeled stereos
driving our roads.
