My point exactly!!  :-)  We can't go hurting those poor little VWs, now can
we.  

It's kind of funny though, now when I look back at it, the car exploding and
all, it was kind of cool!  Like I said, looked like the movies!!  (boy, what
a demented mind I have!)

Believe me, neither did I!!  Thanks.  
What happened is, when the car hit the tree on the driver's side door, it
crunched the side sooooo much that it pinched the accelerator cable to full
throttle.  We tried to shut the engine off by taking out the keys (before we
rolled out of th ecar) but it kept running.  We figure that the impact
cracked the fuel line (doesn't it run on the drives side?) and it leaked on
the exhaust or something.  Then, KABOO!!  Big flames, ringing ears, etc.
 Wish I had a video camera...
