Yes, it's pretty easy to tell - aside from the fact that the car will be 
rather sluggish... The Robert Muir book (which as I keep telling everyone 
they should have) recommends that you remove the sparkplug wire and plug 
(have them attached) and hold them with an insulated set of pliers.  Hold 
near the body and crank - Blue Spark is Good, No Spark is Bad. Do this one 
at a time for each plug.  If you have spark then test gas: Replace 
sparkplugs and wires, and pull the fuel inectors (one at a time) remove the 
boot over the air filter housing.  Place injector in glass jar, turn the key 
to power, and lift the air regulator plate (the one under the boot you just 
removed) you should see a nice conical spray.  Finally, it may just have 
crappy compression - by cheap-ola compression testor and give it a go......

As always be careful around fuel and sparks....
