Re: Help - clutch failure

from the engine, and the bearing will be there. You probably want to drain
the gear oil first; there's a plug on the bottom of the differential housing
that takes a 17mm allen wrench. The filler is on the very end of the
transmission and is of the same type head.. >>

Draining the fluid isnt neccessary. You might get some residue fluid when you
take the endcap off.
Word of warning on removing the endcap:
it is pressed into the end of the tranny. There is no gasket to seal the cap.
Therefore it is imparative you are extremely carefull not to scar or mar the
surface of the tranny. You will have to pry the cap to get it off. Just ise a
thin flat tip screwdriver and pry up the cap 180 deg around the cap. then get
a pair of vice grips on the part of the cap you bent up and bend up the
flange more. Work it gently around the cap and it will distort the cap enough
to get it off, retaining the sealing qualities of the tranny housing! You
gotta be patient with this man!! Or its leak city!
