Scirocco 16V seats

I have a couple of questions regarding Scirocco/Jetta seats.  I have a
rip my drivers side bolster and I was wondering if the passenger seat of
my 84 Jetta GLI would fit in my '87 16V? (with mods?)   The seats look
the same but are the seats the same?  Also, is it possible to lower the
driver's side seat as I am 6'1"?  I was going to take the seats out and
try them but was wondering if some knows the answers to my questions.
