OT- Any thoughts on the MkV GTI?

I think that is the 2007 GTI that keeps beating me in AutoCross.  Handles
very well.  The owner said to get it without the option that controls the
shifting as it will upshift before you really want it to if you are looking
for performance.  Nice car.  Also an Indy racer owns one as his daily driver
and loves it.
