Optimus prime on Ebay!

LOL Cheech and Chong... God love em.

No... Just a long time fan. Don't get me started on Transformers,
Robotech/Macross or Cyberpunk. I have a black belt in all three.

"You want beef?!? You think that I open an Chinese restaurant in the
middle of the hood and don't know what time it is?!? I will kick your
asses my damn self--word is born."--Fugees

They could have done alot better with Bumblebee if they at least made
him a VW. I mean fine it could have been a Yellow Mk1 GTI and I think
most people would have thought that better than the Camaro. Part of
the reason they went with that is Michael Bay attempted to base it on
actual size... Not that Mr. Bay is known for his historical facts, or
basics in science. Armageddon is a good example of this.
Wholehearted entertaining but the science behind it is crap. He and
Spielberg did an interview with someone and mentioned the characters
to be in the movie and they said that they chose the hog nosed rig for
Prime because the flat nose Mack style would have transformed into
something around 22ft tall. They wanted Prime to be at least 28 feet
tall so they went with the hog nose. Same thing for Bumblebee. A
Beetle would have been too short (why this matters I am not sure) in
robot mode. If you notice Jazz seemed to be pretty small
comparatively. Again--Jazz was considered a medium sized Autobot back
in the day and Bumblebee was a small framed scout. This size thing is
why Megatron wasn't a pistol and there was no Soundwave. They didn't
want to do the shrinky-dink effect the cartoon had. Megatron was like
30ft+ and became a Walther pistol not scaled to human proportions but
to Starscreams? Soundwave shrank to something smaller than a boombox
and was one of the biggest Decepticons in robot form. "Soundwave can
hear a fly sneeze."

So they compromised and made Frenzy which could transform into a GPX
boombox... I thought that was funny since places like Walgreens carry
GPX electronics and they are generally thought of as crap. Frenzy
himself was something an oddity as the toys and the cartoons had them
mixed up. The Rumble Toy was red and in the cartoon he was blue...
and Frenzy the Toy was Blue and in the cartoon, red. Rumble was
always the more popular character of the two and most often seen in
the cartoon and was the character most closely portrayed in the movie
as Frenzy.

Starscream as an F22 was ok... but he was originally based on the F-15
Eagle that is still in service. It also kind of bugs me that the
heads and bodies of Megatron and Starscream are very similar.

Now if Toby McGuire doesn't screw up the Robotech movie the world will
be a better place.

Broadcasting live from the basement...
