2L 16v engine work ok with (base) CIS?

I stripped the hell out of the car, so I have everything, including an
intact harness. I cheated and used a sawzall to get the harness out.
It still took me forever! (here's the aftermath pic:

The thought of having to swap the entire harness was the reason I
didn't seriously consider dropping the 16v in the 82, but I thought I
remembered someone mention they ran a 2L 16v w/ CIS just fine. If it
were any other car...

The engine started out as a 1.8L, and was bored out to 2L. It's
probably a guessing game as to the exact c/r. I may pop the head off
of it and check out the internals since it's been sitting for almost 3
years (it also has ARP studs, so I'll only need to buy a new head
gasket). I can always cc a combustion chamber. Does the 16v have
domed or dished pistons (I've never ripped into one?

Later,

Mark.
