2L 16v engine work ok with (base) CIS?



@ Verboten: What did you do for knock sensing? That would be my main concern 
installing a higher compression motor into a scirocco. But for winter use, as 
in Mark's case, it may not be a problem.

Either way - it can definitely be done in a month, Mark. It would admittedly be 
easier if you had a '84+ fusebox, but it's definitely not hard for someone w/ 
your skillz...
