List dead?

The border doesn't make sense anymore.  My wife was allowed to come visit me 
before we were married a number of times without any hassles.  I'm so used 
to crossing the border without people questioning me because of my 
citizenship duality that I never thought there'd be a problem.  Once we 
cleared up the original issue with customs and she finally was allowed to 
come down to see me, customs would hold her up for two hours and ask her all 
sorts of ridiculous questions and even called me using her cell phone once 
to tell me they were sending her to jail instead of letting her across.  I 
was drunk at the time so that didn't help.  The last time I crossed the 
border though I had anticipated all sorts of delays so I budgeted my time 
accordingly.  The drive from Toronto to Detroit took 2 hours instead of 3, 
the border took 15 minutes instead of 2 hours, and we were so early at the 
airport in Detroit that check in and security took 30 minutes instead of 2 
hours.  We were sitting at the gate for more then 5 hours before our flight 
all because we anticipated Customs to be it's usual ridiculous self.
