Might you try running something like Seafoam through
the motor?

It works best when you do it to a hot motor so run it
a bit before you administer it. Basically it's a
solvent/cleaner type product you get the motor to suck
in while running until the thing stalls and stops
turning over. At this point it's both hot and full of
cleaner. You wait awhile and later restart the motor,
purging all kinds of (temporary) black smoke out the
tail pipe.
