Stupid question of the Day

My first Scirocco, an '82 did that, and when I got tired of pulling over, I
installed an oil pressure guage...

It turned out to be a faulty oil pressure warning system, because the oil
pressure was fine.


The blinking LED is usually a faulty flex-circuit on the instrument panel.
I'd install a guage...

Here's the strange one.  Oil level is fine, it happens in the morning on the
way to work.  The it is the light/buzzer goes off only above 2k.  When I'm
below 2k no warning and on the way home no problem!!!  However, now I thing
I hear some engine noise (i would guess from the backside of the engine,
sitting in the drivers seat).

I change the only every 3k miles and run 20w50 during the Summer.  Should I
be using this or stick with 10w30.

My '82 can't dye................I average 36-38 mpg on my 86 mile daily
round trip!!!

it had to do with the pressure drop that triggers that light.

Honestly, because my car is old and so is yours. And because I worry to much
sometimes I added a oil pressure guage that reads in BAR mated with the
proper sender. Really not difficult and nice to know I get a check on that
pressure all the time.
