OT: Passat fuel gauge



Thanks Drew, that's good to know.  For now, I pulled the sender head and
bent the float arm just a little.  I filled the tank and it appears to be
better than before.  I'll know better when we start refilling the tank.

On later models you can recalibrate the fuel guage - there's a procedure
that involves draining the tank, filling up with a precise amount of fuel,
and then calibrating the fuel guage  with VAG-COM. Might apply to your 96
Passat.
